Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) and Residential Care Communities are required to implement a comprehensive compliance and ethics program, commonly known under F895, designed to prevent, detect, and report violations (42 CFR 483.85). Key requirements include written policies, designated compliance leadership, mandatory training, effective communication, monitoring/auditing, and corrective action mechanisms to ensure quality care and regulatory compliance. The Compliance Officer Boot Camp focuses on the integration of OIG, DOJ, and CMS regulatory requirements applied to the long-term post-acute care (LTPAC) or Residential Care sector. The Boot Camp curriculum includes four components applicable to compliance and ethics program management: a Compliance and Ethics Overview, the Seven Elements of an Effective Compliance Program, Program Features and Benefits, and Operationalizing Policies and Procedures.
