Course overview

Managing and treating suicidal ideation is a critical component of mental health care. After assessing a client's suicide risk level, appropriate interventions are necessary to support their recovery. And understanding the dynamics of suicide treatment is essential to get successful outcomes. In this workshop, Diane Bigler, LCSW, will provide an in-depth exploration of the variables that lead to suicide risk and the patterns that define "the suicide mode." You will then be introduced to the foundations of mindfulness to understand the effectiveness that it has on supporting suicidal clients. And most importantly, this course will cover specific mindfulness-based interventions & exercises to help your clients who are in their darkest moments. You'll leave this training with the knowledge & skills you need to become the kind of therapist your clients can rely on when they need you most.
