DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis): Risk Factors, Prevention & Management

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:

1. Define Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and its clinical significance.

2. Identify patient populations at high risk for DVT.

3. Recognize signs and symptoms of DVT and pulmonary embolism.

4. Implement preventive strategies, including lifestyle modification, compression therapy, and pharmacologic prophylaxis.

5. Assess and monitor patients using evidence-based tools.

6. Apply pharmacologic interventions safely and effectively.

7. Educate patients and caregivers about DVT prevention, signs, and when to seek care.

8. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize DVT management and patient safety.
