Learn moreCourse overview
Age related hearing loss is frequently under-recognized in older adults despite its strong association with social isolation, emotional distress, and accelerated cognitive decline. Nurse practitioners are uniquely positioned to lead early identification and interdisciplinary collaboration to mitigate these downstream effects and promote healthy aging. By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Describe the relationship between age related hearing loss, cognitive load, and cognitive decline in older adults. Discuss the nurse practitioner's role in early identification, patient counseling, and inter professional collaboration with audiology. Apply evidence informed strategies from a case study to support cognitive, emotional, and social health outcomes in older adults.
