Course overview

Fever of Unknown Origin is defined as a persistent fever exceeding 101'F lasting more than three weeks with no identified cause after initial investigation. FUO presents a diagnostic challenge for healthcare professionals due to its broad differential, which includes infections, autoimmune disorders, malignancies, and drug induced fevers. This course provides a systematic approach to evaluating FUO, evidence based diagnostic strategies, and nursing considerations for safe patient care. Emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary collaboration, early recognition of red flags, and appropriate diagnostic testing.
