Oncology Emergencies: Recognition & Rapid Response

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:

1. Identify common oncology emergencies and understand their underlying pathophysiology.

2. Recognize early clinical signs and symptoms that indicate an urgent oncologic situation.

3. Apply evidence-based protocols for rapid assessment and stabilization of patients.

4. Implement preventive strategies to minimize risk in high-risk oncology populations.

5. Coordinate interdisciplinary interventions, including communication with physicians, nursing, pharmacy, and support services.

6. Educate patients and caregivers on warning signs that require immediate attention.
