Course overview

Fine needle aspirate (FNA) cytology is a minimally invasive, high impact diagnostic tool used routinely in veterinary medicine to guide clinical decision making. This program reviews core pathology concepts relevant to cytology, including distinctions between cytology and histopathology, and clarifies the role of FNA in diagnostic workflows. Participants will learn best practices for sample collection, preparation, and submission to maximize diagnostic yield and minimize non diagnostic results. The program also reviews cytology submission options, including slide based and slide free evaluation using the inVue Dx, and highlights the importance of structured clinical inputs and clinical pathologist image review in improving diagnostic accuracy and clinical utility.
