Course overview
This program is designed for EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses to build proficiency in the assessment and application of common orthopedic support and assistive devices across the clinical care setting. Participants will receive hands on training in splint application, strapping and taping techniques, knee immobilizer fitting and safe crutch walking. The program emphasizes rapid injury stabilization, proper device selection and sizing, neurovascular assessment before and after application, patient comfort and clear patient education. Through demonstration, guided practice and skills-based assessment, learners will develop the foundational competencies necessary to stabilize injuries and support healing and promote safe ambulation
