Diabetic Patient Education

Course overview

Participants will know how to educate a diabetic patient. After completing this module, the learner will be able to: Outline basic facts about the causes, pathological process, diagnosis, complications, and treatment of diabetes. Examine why glycemic control is important. Characterize the four Ms for diabetes self-management. Identify two important concepts of diabetic complications. Categorize common barriers that prevent adherence to and compliance with the diabetic treatment regimen.
