Course overview

This recorded program identifies steps that survivors can take to promote their emotional and physical safety when they are going to court for a matter involving their abuser, or where their abuser may be present in the courthouse. Those viewing this presentation will learn ways to guide survivors through managing feelings of dysregulation or emotional distress by modeling calming strategies. These practical techniques will help support survivors who may experience distress while anticipating attending court or during the court proceedings. Demonstration of lower brain-based exercises will enhance advocates' skills in supporting survivors in calming through breath, movement, and tapping techniques.
