*Evaluate and synthesize the peer-reviewed literature on the immediate changes in or to anatomical structures in response to spinal manipulation. *Outline the evidence pertaining to the effects of spinal manipulation on biochemical markers in humans. *Discover whether any aspect of SMT application procedures (target, thrust or region) offers an advantage at reducing spinal pain and disability at short- and long-term follow-ups. *Summarize the literature relating to the neuromuscular responses to high-velocity, low-amplitude spinal manipulation in humans.
