Course overview

Elder abuse is a significant and often underrecognized issue affecting vulnerable older adults in various care settings. This course provides healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools necessary to identify, assess, document, and report suspected cases of elder abuse. Participants will explore types of abuse, risk factors, clinical indicators, legal and ethical responsibilities, and appropriate intervention strategies. Emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary collaboration, patient safety, and adherence to mandated reporting laws.
