The Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Symposium is a multidisciplinary trauma informed training designed to strengthen professionals capacity to identify prevent and respond effectively to child abuse. Hosted by the Foster Care and Prevention Services Program of Broward County Public Schools and sponsored by the Childrens Services Council and Sunshine Health this symposium features expert presenters who address risk factors protective factors reporting responsibilities and collaborative prevention strategies. Participants will enhance their understanding of child abuse dynamics ethical and legal considerations and evidence informed interventions that support child safety family stability and community well being. Emphasis is placed on professional responsibility cross system collaboration and prevention focused practices applicable to clinical school based and community settings. Core Objectives 1.Identify indicators risk factors and protective factors associated with child abuse and neglect using a trauma informed framework. 2.Apply ethical and legal responsibilities related to child abuse prevention documentation and mandated reporting. 3.Analyze the impact of abuse and trauma on child development family systems and educational functioning. 4.Integrate prevention focused and evidence informed strategies to promote child safety and resilience across settings. 5.Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary partners to strengthen coordinated responses and community based prevention efforts.
