Course overview

Musculoskeletal disorders are highly prevalent in dentistry, with the majority of clinicians experiencing pain as a result of repetitive motion, sustained postures, and suboptimal operatory positioning. This course explores the foundational principles of ergonomics and how they apply directly to clinical practice. Participants will examine common risk factors contributing to strain, including forward head posture, shoulder elevation, static positioning, and excessive grip. This course provides practical strategies to improve operator and patient positioning, incorporate movement into the clinical day, and evaluate ergonomic equipment that supports neutral posture. Attendees will leave with tools to reduce physical stress, enhance productivity, and support long-term career sustainability.
