Neck tension, thoracic stiffness, shoulder dysfunction, and repetitive strain injuries often stem from chronic postural imbalances and fascial restrictions. This course provides an in-depth exploration of upper-body fascial integration and its role in cervical, thoracic, and shoulder pain syndromes. Participants will analyze forward head posture, upper crossed patterns, scapular dyskinesis, thoracic kyphosis, and repetitive strain compensations. Pain neuroscience principles are incorporated to help therapists differentiate structural dysfunction from centrally mediated chronic pain presentations. Hands-on lab sessions focus on suboccipital decompression, scapular stabilization strategies, pectoral and rotator cuff integration, thoracic mobilization (non-thrust), and postural correction sequencing. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with practical corrective strategies, refined assessment skills, and evidence-informed treatment planning methods to address upper-body postural dysfunction safely and effectively within Florida massage therapy scope of practice.

The content of this course is limited to the assessment and manual manipulation of soft tissues, instruction in postural analysis, and non-invasive therapeutic techniques that fall within the statutory scope of massage therapy practice in the State of Florida.
This course does not provide training in medical diagnosis, chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy interventions, or any procedures that exceed the scope of practice defined in Chapter 480, F.S. Participants are not authorized through completion of this course to perform high-velocity thrust manipulations, medical treatment, or any invasive procedures.
Participants are responsible for practicing within the limits of their professional licensure and for complying with all state laws and rules governing massage therapy practice.
Completion of this course does not expand the legal scope of practice for massage therapists in Florida.
