Dental Anesthesia: Mishaps, Calamities, and Resolutions. Discussion of common & potential complications of local anesthesia procedures in the office. Examples of patients with pre-existing issues that may require special approaches for dental procedures. Simple sedation techniques for phobic patients. This course provides a practical, clinically relevant review of pharmacology and anesthesia principles essential for everyday dental practice. Emphasis will be placed on safe prescribing, anesthesia risk assessment, patient selection, pediatric and medically complex patients, and legal considerations affecting dental providers.
