Course overview

Myo-Somatic Bodywork integrates myofascial release, craniosacral therapy (CST), and somatic dialogue to facilitate the release of physical and psychosomatic tension. Participants examine overlaps between fascial and cerebrospinal anatomy, including the dural tube and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), exploring their structural role in tension distribution and sensory communication to enhance client awareness and embodiment. Through gentle manual interventions, learners assess fascia's response to forces- contrasting rapid, injurious impacts with slow, sustained pressures that promote thixotropic remodeling and tissue glide. Adopting a bottom up somatic approach, the course prioritizes safety, gradual force application, and attunement to non-verbal and verbal feedback. Students investigate myofascial anatomy as a continuous structural and sensory network, where mechanoreceptors support proprioception and interoception. CST modules focus on dural restrictions and CSF dynamics to optimize parasympathetic nervous system responses. The curriculum addresses clinical observations of emotional release in bodywork, evaluating emerging research on fascia as a sensory organ interfacing with brain regions. Somatic dialogue skills enable clients to deepen sensory awareness- discerning location, depth, shape, and potential emotional crossovers- while maintaining ethical boundaries and scope of practice limitations. Objectives include mastering tactile felt sense (e.g., restrictions vs. glide, thixotropic remodeling, cranial rhythm palpation) and client centered practices. Hands on practice emphasizes safe, sustained touch to resolve adhesions and foster parasympathetic activation.
