Training for vets and nurses who want to improve their exotic animal and wildlife medicine and surgery skills. Focus on elephant and rhino (megaherbivore) physiology, capture, translocation, medicine, and surgical intervention. Delegates receive lecture-based teaching, practical sessions, and hands-on experience in real wildlife work in South Africa. Led by Dr John Marias from Saving the Survivors, world-renowned for his fieldwork, research, and clinical skills, and supported by Dr Gemma Campling, who holds many years of experience with African wildlife. Module One -planning procedures Module Two- chemical immobilization of elephant and rhino Module Three -pharmacology of medications for megaherbivores Module Four - anaesthesia monitoring for wildlife Module Five - transportation of wildlife Module Six - treatment plans for snare wounds and poaching-induced trauma.
