This webinar focuses on the integration of neurocognitive training techniques during rehabilitation to enhance recovery and functional outcomes for patients following post-operative knee injuries. Emerging evidence following ACL reconstruction (ACLr), suggests an overreliance on cerebral activity which is associated with increased reinjury rates and reduced psychological readiness upon returning to sport. While these adaptations are well established in the ACLr population, the application of these principles to a broader spectrum of knee procedures is less clearly defined. This presentation will provide an overview of relevant neural anatomy and post-operative neurocognitive adaptations. It will outline structured neurocognitive training techniques, their clinical application, and their impact on functional testing outcomes, drawing on evidence from ACL reconstruction and extending these principles to a broader post-operative, young athletic population.
