Course overview

This 6-Hour Medication Administration Course is designed to provide unlicensed assistive personnel UAP including Certified Nursing Assistants CNA Home Health Aides HHA and caregivers with the foundational knowledge required to safely assist with the self administration of medications in accordance with Florida regulations. This course is delivered in an anytime self paced online format allowing participants to complete the required training at their convenience. Upon successful completion participants will receive a certificate of completion immediately. The curriculum covers essential topics related to medication safety including the Rights of medication administration proper documentation infection control practices medication classifications routes of administration and recognizing and reporting medication errors. Participants will also learn how to support residents in assisted living facilities ALF group homes and home care settings while maintaining compliance with state guidelines and professional standards. This course is ideal for individuals seeking entry level medication administration training or those required by their employer to complete a formal medication assistance program. An optional in person skills demonstration and lecture is available for participants who wish to gain hands on experience however this is not required for completion of the online course and is dependent on employer requirements.
