Med Tech Pro Medication Administration Training

Course overview

The Med Tech Pro Medication Administration Training is designed for Certified Nursing Assistants CNA who want to build upon the required 6 hour medication administration training and gain additional hands on experience and live instruction. This course includes the required online medication administration modules followed by a 2 day in person training session. The training is aligned with Florida standards for assisting with the self administration of medication in assisted living and long term care settings. The course expands on foundational medication knowledge by incorporating hands on practice and instructor led lecture. Topics include medication safety the Rights of medication administration proper documentation infection control medication classifications and recognizing and reporting medication errors. During the in person training portion participants will practice medication pass procedures and complete vital signs training including manual blood pressure. Instruction is provided in a supervised environment to reinforce safe techniques and proper workflow when assisting with medications. This course is intended to provide additional training and skill development for CNAs but does not replace employer required competency validation. Participants may be required to complete additional skills verification at their place of employment based on facility policies. Upon successful completion participants will receive a certificate of completion.
