Course overview

The Appraisal Institute's online 15-Hour Equivalent USPAP Course is divided into 11 modules and follows the required topical content established by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) of The Appraisal Foundation. As you proceed through the course you will discover that impartiality is an integral part of what defines you as an appraiser. The course emphasizes the appraiser's role and how inpartiality is associated with that role under various assignments - the types of assignments appraisers perform in everyday practice. This course has an emphasis on the application of USPAP in everyday practice - and that will be evident in every module. This course is an introduction to USPAP, and therefore many in our class will be focused on assignments that involve the appraisal or appraisal review of real property. However, USPAP extends to assignments involving personal property, and business or intangible assets. A clear understanding of USPAP fosters both ethical behavior and competent practice in these appraisal disciplines. Quizzes are presented at the conclusion of each module to test your mastery of USPAP concepts. Rules and guidelines for our online course have been previously covered in this module, so be sure to review those pages if you run into any issues while taking a quiz or have questions regarding quiz functionality. As noted earlier, The Appraisal Foundation (TAF) establishes the content that is required to be covered in all 15-Hour Equivalent USPAP Courses. Nonetheless, it is our goal to deliver the required content in a manner that you'll find engaging as well as educational. A feature of the Appraisal Institute's online 15-Hour Equivalent USPAP Course is a video case study application in nearly all of the 11 modules. Please be aware that you are required to view the video case study applications or read the transcripts as you advance through the course, as you should expect to see quiz questions covering their content.
