Course overview

When children refuse to try, avoid tasks, or seem unmotivated, it is easy to assume they are being lazy or uncooperative. In this training, you will look beneath the surface of so-called "lazy" behavior to understand how intrinsic motivation can naturally happen, how trauma, chronic stress, and external motivators interfere with that process, and can create reward dependency, lack of skills, power struggles, and discouragement. Through clear explanations, practical activities, and real-life examples, you will gain new insight into why traditional approaches often backfire, and get tools for helping children engage, persist, and succeed.
