Course overview

This intermediate-level course introduces registered nurses (RNs) and physical therapists (PTs) to the foundational principles and clinical application of pulmonary rehabilitation (PR). Learners will explore patient selection, assessment strategies, exercise prescription, breathing techniques, airway clearance, oxygen therapy, and interdisciplinary care planning. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based interventions, safety considerations, and patient-centered outcomes for individuals with chronic respiratory diseases such as COPD, interstitial lung disease, and post-acute respiratory conditions.
