Keeping up with laws and rules impacting your work as a mental health professional can be difficult! We are expected not just to know about changes in Chapter 491 of the Florida Statutes but also changes in several other chapters that could influence our work, e.g., Chapters 456, 39, 90, 394, 397, and 415 in addition to rules in the Florida Administrative Code. This training was created to provide an overview of changes in Florida statutes and rules that could impact your work with an added bonus of information on disciplinary cases in which mental health professionals were sanctioned for violating laws and rules, nothing is more compelling than real case scenarios as opposed to hypothetical, fictitious cases. Lastly, this training will offer some information about federal laws and rules impacting our profession, such as the No Surprises Act. Hopefully, after taking this training, you will feel more comfortable and confident that you can practice within the boundaries of laws and rules, avoiding violations that could limit your ability to do the work you are so passionate about.
