Course overview

Taber's Medical Dictionary defines "orthopedic" as "concerning the prevention or correction of musculoskeltal deformities". In this course, you will begin with an intense anatomy refresher (bones, muscles, and nerves) then cover the common dysfunctions and their symptoms and signs, before moving on to detailed assessment procedures (visual, motion, palpation) for the following body parts: 1) lumbar spine, 2) thoracic spine, 3) certvical spine, 4) shoulder, 5) hip, 6) knee; 7) ankle; 8) elbow and wrist. You will learn a total of 86 neuromuscular muscle energy techniques and a total of 90 orthopedic massage techniques. Because there is so much reading and 24 separate practice sessions, this course is very time intensive. We estimate it will take from 50 - 60 hours for the average therapist to complete all of the course requirements. You will be rewarded with a plethora of in-depth knowledge to vastly improve the quality of your work.
