12 hours, live hands on. Learn shapes and patterns that will effectively give you more time massaging with the stones and less time massaging with your hands! Learning Objectives of this class: Understand the indications, contraindications and safety of hot stone massage, equipment use Learn a routine that is flexible and functional for a basic hot stone massage Use modern heating equipment to heat stones Discuss clean up and laundry care of your work areas, surfaces, linens and stones Learn which stones in class are good to use for specific areas of the body Time management of a hot stone massage Outcomes that you will leave this class with: Be able to perform a full body hot stone massage (no abs) Use and operate a heating element such as a heating mat or hot towel cabinet safely and effectively to perform a hot stone massage How to effectively drape and layer your table and linens for a wonderful client experience Choose the right massage lubricant for this technique based on practitioner's preferences. Safe, appropriate and effective draping of linens on your client during the massage All students are expected to bring to class: A full set of sheets and a light, retired blanket for each day. Something to write with, because there are some notes and drawing arrows Two full size bath sheets or beach towels for each day At least two hand towels per day
