In this session, an expert in the field will explore how family members are impacted by SUD, including the emotional, psychological, and relational challenges they face on a daily basis. The presentation will highlight common survival strategies such as denial, as well as the breakdown of communication and trust within the family unit. Attendees will gain practical insights into the stages of healing for family members, learning actionable steps to rebuild trust, foster open dialogue, and reconnect with loved ones. Special attention will be given to strategies that help family members separate themselves from enabling behaviors, empowering them to support recovery in healthy ways. This session prepares the audience for the Al-Anon workshop to follow, providing foundational knowledge and emotional tools to begin the journey toward family recovery and resilience.
