Course overview

0202-0000-26-225-L08-P More than 14 million people in the U.S. are estimated to have alcohol use disorder (AUD), underscoring a major public health challenge. AUD presents with complex clinical issues, including high rates of co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions as well as frequent polysubstance use, which make treatment and management more difficult. As evidence-based pharmacotherapy and behavioral interventions continue to evolve, it is essential for pharmacists to stay updated on the most effective strategies for optimal AUD management. This session will offer a thorough overview of the symptoms specific to AUD and will compare current treatment options--including both medications and behavioral therapies--while addressing important considerations for managing AUD.
