Course overview

This presentation explores sandtray therapy within play therapy as a protected space where the clients inner world can take form through play, sand, and symbol. Rather than rushing to interpretation, the focus is on presence, pacing, and the therapists role as witness. Participants will leave with clearer clinical language, stronger confidence in the process, and a practical framework for using sandtray in play therapy with clients of all ages. Attendees will engage in guided experiential practice, creating and reflecting on their own trays to deepen clinical attunement and strengthen play therapy informed responses. The presentation offers practical ways to introduce sandtray in play therapy, select interventions along the directive and non directive continuum, and set up a sandtray space with trays, sand, and miniatures. Ethical practice and protection of the clients sand world are emphasized throughout for work with individuals, families, and groups.
