Course overview
This 1-hour course covers what nurses need to know about HIV in clinical practice, how it transmits, how to protect yourself after an exposure, how antiretroviral therapy has changed the disease, and what Florida law requires around testing and confidentiality. We'll walk through post-exposure prophylaxis, the U=U principle, Florida Statute 381.004, and how to deliver a positive result in a way that actually helps the patient. Approved for 1.0 contact hour by the Florida Board of Nursing.
