Recognizing Impairment in the Workplace: Protecting Patients and Colleagues

Course overview

This 2-hour course covers how to recognize and respond to impaired nursing practice in the workplace. Topics include substance use disorder prevalence among nurses, physical and behavioral signs of impairment, controlled substance diversion, mandatory reporting under F.S. 456.073, Florida's Intervention Project for Nurses (IPN), and how to build a workplace culture that supports early intervention. Approved for 2.0 contact hours by the Florida Board of Nursing.
