This course provides a comprehensive framework for healthcare professionals and first responders to manage high-stakes emergencies involving respiratory failure, specifically focusing on the intersection of substance overdose and drowning. Using the "Chain of Survival" model, participants will learn to identify early warning signs, implement rapid intervention protocols, and utilize specialized equipment for water-based rescues. **Learning Objectives:** By the end of this session, participants will be able to: 1. **Analyze** the physiological similarities between respiratory distress in drowning victims and opioid-induced respiratory depression. 2. **Demonstrate** the integration of Naloxone administration within a water-rescue environment. 3. **Evaluate** the "Chain of Survival" steps as they apply to integrated response teams in coastal or aquatic settings. 4. **Identify** the technical requirements and safety protocols for using motorized propulsion assistance during rescue operations. **Target Audience:** Registered Nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians, and Certified Rescue Technicians.
