Luxury Foot Soaks

Course overview

This is a 4 hour course going over the history and purpose of foot soak treatments. Steeped in global cultural traditions, the soaking and washing of feet has been around since pre-Christian times and continues to be a part of our everyday, religious, and medical practices. Students will learn how to properly perform a foot soak treatment, how to choose the best ingredients for budget purposes or to fit a theme. Students will also learn indications and contraindications for these treatments. It is 4 hours of hands-on learning consisting of three different foot soaks intertwined with lecture and demonstration 1. Students will learn the origins of soaking feet as the pretense for ritual relaxation 2. Students will understand how to elevate a service from plain water to high spa spa experience 3. Students will learn how to elevate foot soaks with common pantry ingredients 4. Students will learn how to safely perform, clean, and disinfect foot soak service
