People diagnosed with cancer need a tremendous amount of support from many different realms. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a full set of tools to help people diagnosed with cancer. In this course, join Dr. Misha Cohen, a recognized leading expert in TCM who has received numerous honors for her work with AIDS/HIV, as she shares the theory and practice of supportive treatment with Chinese medicine. The scope of Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture practice includes developing a knowledge base to help with referral to Western practitioners. This course will focus on practical protocols, treatment plans, and safety issues for supporting people diagnosed with cancer that come to your practice. Practitioners will also learn the relationship of chronic viruses to cancer development. In addition, viral hepatitis (HCV), human papilloma virus (HPV), Epstein-Barr virus, and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), among other viruses that are associated with cancer development will also be discussed. Appropriate herbs and herbal formulas will be discussed along with acupuncture treatment for adjunctive cancer support.
