Course overview

Autoimmune diseases and multiple chemical sensitivities are common clinical disorders that are often inadequately diagnosed and treated by conventional pharmaceuticals. Drug toxicity and long-term side effects of anti-inflammatory medications can limit positive responses in many cases. The use of Chinese herbal medicines for these diseases is supported by the pharmacological research literature that demonstrates regulatory effects on immune function, including such therapeutic targets as the interferons, interleukins, and tumor necrosis factor.
