VICSD Optimal Imaging - Optimal Imaging means providing our best diagnostic imaging (Ultrasound vs CT) and AI-enhanced data disease detection for your patients/pets. It's about analyzing our imaging outside the vacuum because imaging results mean much more when analyzed in the context of all the other pertinent information (from you, the referring veterinarian, pet lab results and VICSD's in-house data). Optimal Imaging is about providing better diagnostics for your pet and giving you a more complete understanding of your pet's health. I-131 Treatment for hyperthyroid cats: I-131 therapy for hyperthyroid cats provides a cure, replacing daily methimazole therapy. I-131 therapy has been shown to increase life-span of hyperthyroid cats compared to methimazole therapy. Confirmation of hyperthyroidism is recommended via bloodwork and a thyroid scan prior to I-131 treatment. Evaluation of left ventricular wall thickness and left atrial size prior to I-131 therapy is also recommended as a baseline.
