Tracking # 20-1379293
Course overview
Behavioral health equity means that everyone has fair and just access to high-quality, affordable healthcare services and supports. Advancing this equity requires ensuring that all people have a fair and just opportunity to achieve their best possible health, including behavioral health. This involves not only providing quality care but also addressing social determinants of health, such as employment, housing stability, insurance coverage, proximity to services, and access to culturally responsive care. These factors play a significant role in shaping behavioral health outcomes. This course will introduce behavioral health providers to factors affecting the behavioral health of people living in rural and remote areas and the inequities in their healthcare. It will also explore strategies providers can use to address these health inequities.
