The Karpman Drama Triangle is one way to understand toxic interpersonal connections and unhealthy internal beliefs. It is often an unconscious dynamic and tends to create pain, blame, and shame. At times, everyone gets caught on the drama triangle as we struggle to understand ourselves and others. This daylong training will utilize action techniques to identify the behaviors of the drama triangle roles of Victim, Rescuer, and Persecutor. The Circle of Restoration will be introduced as a model for stepping off the drama triangle dynamic. The roles assertive expression, empowered action, and healthy connection will be explored and psychodramatic interventions will be demonstrated to assist clients in moving into these more satisfying roles. Learning objectives: Participants will identify and describe the roles of victim, rescuer and persecutor within the Karpman Drama Triangle and examine how these patterns contribute to shame, blame, conflict and unhealthy relational dynamics 2. Analyze the impact of unconscious drama triangle dynamics on clients' beliefs, emotional regulation, attachment patterns, communication styles and interpersonal functioning. 3. Demonstrate the use of psychodramatic and experiential action methods to help clients recognize, externalize and interrupt maladaptive relational roles and behaviors. 4. Apply the Circle of Restoration model to support clients in developing assertive communication, empowered action, and healthier relational connectionsl
