Suturing 101 is an introductory skills-based certification course designed for healthcare providers seeking foundational knowledge and practical competency in basic wound closure techniques. This course provides participants with essential principles of wound assessment, aseptic technique, tissue handling, knot tying, and suturing methods commonly used in clinical and emergency care settings. Participants will learn the indications, contraindications, and selection of appropriate suture materials and instruments, along with techniques for simple interrupted, continuous, mattress, and basic wound closure procedures. Emphasis is placed on infection prevention, patient safety, wound care management, documentation, and post-procedure patient education.
