Course overview

Patients are best served when clinicians work as a team not as a group working in parallel. But effective interprofessional teamwork does not happen by default. It requires shared goals clear roles and the ability to learn from each interaction. This course focuses on the teams and teamwork domain of the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) core competency framework. It examines the ten sub-competencies within this domain drawing on a clinical case example to consider how teams develop share leadership manage conflict and improve over time.
