Course overview

The first half of this training will define sexual assault as well as other sexual related behaviors as traumatic experiences. This training will identify signs and symptoms of sexual related trauma experiences and discuss how the signs and symptoms of trauma can show up in the work place . This training will identify how to communicate in a trauma informed way to prevent re-traumatization. The 2nd half of the training will identify other aspects to be aware of in working with individuals who have experienced sexual related traumas, such as cultural considerations, confidentiality and organizational responsibilities. Additionally, the training will address concepts of vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue and transference verses countertransference.
