Meeting Milestones: Motor and Sensory Development and Interventions from Birth to Three

Dive into the essential stages of motor development from birth through age three in this engaging and informative 2-hour, recorded webinar is the first of FOUR sessions offered during the 2025 EARLY INTERVENTION SUMMIT. This course is designed for pediatric professionals working with the early intervention population and seeking to deepen their understanding of typical and atypical motor development in young children. Participants explore the significance of early intervention, the role of primitive reflexes in developing motor skills, and the critical interplay between sensory and motor systems. Clinicians leave with a plethora of tangible treatment interventions they can implement into their sessions immediately! At the end of this course, you will be able to (1) list typical gross and fine motor milestones from birth to 3 years, (2) state three evidence-based intervention strategies to support early development and help meet milestones, (3) identify three red flags for delayed motor development, and (4) identify HEP activities to provide caregivers with tips for improving motor skill progression at home. This distance-learning, interactive format is offered at 0.2 CEUs, Introductory Level, OT Service Delivery, Foundational Knowledge, and targeted to introductory- to intermediate-level pediatric professionals working with the early intervention population.
