Course overview
This 2-hour CE course reviews point-of-care testing, or POCT, in pharmacy and healthcare practice. Topics include common POCT services, patient assessment before testing, informed consent, specimen collection, infection control, CLIA basics, quality control, staff training, result interpretation, documentation, counseling, referral pathways, privacy, and workflow integration. Participants will learn how pharmacists and pharmacy technicians can support accurate testing, communicate results clearly, recognize when referral is needed, and maintain safe, patient-centered POCT services.
