Course overview
**This course is PACE and CE Broker approved. Completions will be automatically reported to CE Broker instantly** This course introduces Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) as an active, collaborative form of manual therapy that uses gentle isometric contractions and precise positioning to support muscle tone, mobility, and quality of movement. Coverage opens with the philosophy and development of MET and what distinguishes it from passive stretching, then turns to the neurology that helps account for what MET does in the body. Assessment skills are covered alongside the treatment process: palpation, motion testing, barrier assessment, and the application steps of positioning, engagement, contraction, relaxation, progression, and reassessment. The course closes by working through common dysfunction patterns in the cervical, shoulder, hip, TFL, and ITB regions and addressing how MET fits within massage, myofascial release, deep tissue work, rehabilitation exercise, and athletic performance contexts.
