Tracking # 20-1382138
Course overview
Objectives: Describe the physiological and anatomical changes that occur after significant weight loss, including skin laxity and changes in fat distribution Identify the factors that influence skin retraction (age, genetics, extent and duration of weight loss, etc.) Recognize appropriate candidates for surgical and non-surgical body contouring procedures Evaluate key considerations such as weight stability, BMI, nutritional status, and comorbid conditions Differentiate between major surgical options (e.g., abdominoplasty, panniculectomy, lower body lift, brachioplasty, thigh lift) Summarize indications, goals, and expected outcomes for each procedure Discuss non-invasive or minimally invasive body contouring techniques (e.g., radiofrequency, cryolipolysis, skin tightening technologies) Compare their effectiveness, limitations, and appropriate use cases Explain expected outcomes, limitations, and the importance of realistic patient expectations Discuss the role of staged procedures and long-term maintenance
