This 2-hour course provides healthcare professionals with an overview of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, including types of abuse, risk factors, warning signs, communication strategies, documentation, and Florida mandatory reporting requirements. Participants will review physical abuse, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, financial exploitation, caregiver neglect, and self-neglect. Emphasis is placed on recognizing possible signs of mistreatment, interviewing suspected victims privately and respectfully, documenting concerns accurately, and reporting suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation under Florida Statutes Chapter 415.
