The central clinical skill in this course is species-aware action: suspect Ebola from the exposure history, isolate before certainty, notify public health early, and let species confirmation guide which countermeasures are appropriate. Ebola outbreaks increasingly intersect with everyday clinical practice, yet most U.S. clinicians will rarely, if ever, see a case, which makes early recognition both critical and difficult.
