Course overview

This interactive 3.5-hour course provides allied health clinicians with a practical and clinically applicable approach to evaluation and treatment of the hand, wrist, and elbow. Participants will explore the complex relationship between mobility, stability, neural dynamics, myofascial dysfunction, and functional movement throughout the upper extremity. The course is designed to bridge the gap between foundational anatomy and real-world clinical application by integrating orthopedic, neurological, biomechanical, and soft tissue considerations into upper extremity rehabilitation strategies. Topics will include functional anatomy and biomechanics of the hand, wrist, elbow, and forearm; common orthopedic and neurological diagnoses; regional interdependence within the upper extremity; and the impact of proximal dysfunction on distal symptoms. Participants will review clinical concepts such as Double Crush Syndrome, neural irritation patterns, peripheral nerve entrapments, myofascial trigger points, repetitive strain injuries, tendon dysfunction, grip-related impairments, and compensatory movement strategies affecting upper extremity performance.
