Course overview

The anterior segment is not immune to neurological disorders. From nerve injury to pain syndromes, the cornea and surrounding structures can be the primary site of symptoms, or a window into systemic disease. This course will explore the spectrum of neurological anterior segment conditions, including neurotrophic keratitis, neuropathic ocular pain, cervicogenic pain, and trigeminal neuralgia. Attendees will learn to differentiate these conditions from common ocular surface disease, recognize their systemic connections, and apply appropriate management strategies, both ocular and neurologic.
